The Dude Ram 1500 Blends Retro with Muscle at SEMA 2025

Many SEMA builds from manufacturers started rolling out last week, and one of the most eye-catching ones was Ram’s “Dude” truck. The build will steal the show at this year's SEMA 2025, and it’s got all the right ingredients to be Pedal Commander® Backyard material.

First off, it’s one of those street trucks that’s been gaining serious popularity lately. It’s got the sporty ground effects, lowered suspension, big wheels with performance tires, a loud neon green paint job, and the overall attitude of a truck that means business on the street.

The coolest accessory on the Dude Ram 1500 is the cowboy hat holder on the dashboard.

But the real party trick is inside the cabin. The concept truck has its own cowboy hat holder right on top of the dashboard! Mounting a hat up there isn’t new; ranchers and troopers have done it for decades. But seeing a factory add-on, built by the manufacturer to hold your hat, is just plain cool.

A Retro Throwback with a Modern Muscle

The Dude Ram 1500 is inspired by a 1970s trim package for the Dodge D100 pickup. Back then, the Dude package was made for folks who wanted a tough Dodge truck that also turned heads. At least that’s what the old ad said.

This truck blends vintage charm with modern muscle. Under the Sublime Green paint and satin black decals sits a 5.7L HEMI V8, upgraded with a Mopar cold air intake, good for 395 horsepower. The SEMA special rides on 22-inch black wheels with a lowered suspension.

Outside, it’s got a performance hood, sporty body kit, and side-exit exhausts for that mean street truck look. Inside, you’ll find black leather with lime green stitching, custom badging on the dash, and even a small safe in the center armrest. Oh, and that hilarious cowboy hat holder up top.

Mopar hasn’t said whether these accessories will ever make it to production. But seeing a street truck among all the lifted builds is a nice change of pace. Albeit niche, there’s definitely a market for it.
