A body-on-frame, full-size SUV with seating enough for seven to nine people, the Chevrolet Suburban is the go-to choice for large families. Pedal Commander® is the solution for the electronic throttle’s laggy characteristic. The Pedal Commander® throttle response controller connects to the throttle pedal assembly with factory plugs. It modifies the throttle signal to eliminate throttle lag and make the butterfly valve open up much faster. WHAT IS THROTTLE LAG?

Like all modern vehicles, the Chevrolet Suburban uses a drive-by-wire electronic throttle system. It converts your gas pedal input into a digital signal that tells the ECU to open the throttle. However, it is calibrated with a built-in delay. This factory restriction allows Chevrolet to meet EPA regulations and fuel-efficiency targets while keeping throttle behavior suitable for every kind of driver.

This causes a hesitation and asluggish feel on the gas pedal. It is called throttle lag. The Suburban is a big and heavy vehicle, perfect for full-size hauling. But throttle lag gets frustrating when you are moving three rows of passengers and a loaded cargo area, or pulling a trailer down the interstate.

The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.

We have a 5.3L 2023 Suburban RST and definitely some lag in the throttle, applied this to the vehicle.. now it actually feels like a V8. You sit there and think should I buy this? Bought three of these in one month. The first one went into a 2018 Suburban and it made me a believer after that. The throttle response made the Suburban feel like a different so much more responsive. Bought my second one for our 2013 Tacoma, yeah that one also worked really well. Put my third one into my 2011 Subaru Outback. I have absolutely no regrets with my purchase except maybe they should have sent something extra with the third purchase. I am not being paid for this review nor am I looking to be paid!! I purchased the peddle commander for my 2017 Chevy silverado. Prior to this purchase, I hated my pick up. Only good thing I could have said about it was the sound system was excellent. I purchased my truck brand new. I had the truck into the dealership numerous amounts of times and they said, the truck was running perfectly. I was looking to get rid of it, but was looking at a serious money loss if I sold now. Heard through an acquaintance about the peddle commander and thought, yeah right. But at this point, I had nothing to lose. Followed instructions to a T and installed in less than 2 minutes. Reason I needed 2 minutes is because I needed to run inside the house for a terminating screw driver. Wow is all I can say. Huge difference. My truck was a huge pooch before, now I LOVE driving my truck. Play with the settings on the peddle commander. I have mine set at city 2. Had it on city 3 but was spinning the tires at complete stops. I have had the peddle commander for 1 month now and I have not received any error messages on the truck.

Installed in 5 min on my 2017 Sierra 1500 v6. Really woke the truck up. I had already disabled with AFM module and done the paint stick mod but that did not help with delay in acceleration. Once I placed the Pedal commander in City plus 3, the feeling was instant. What a change! This does not increase HP but it does make acceleration quicker.
