Eliminate Throttle Delay with Pedal Commander

Control and customize your vehicle's throttle response for a more responsive driving experience.

Engineered for Performance

Pedal Commander is an electronic throttle response controller that is engineered to eliminate throttle delay, which is experienced in almost all modern vehicles. It also lets you control and customize your vehicle’s throttle response.

Advanced Signal Processing

The Pedal Commander throttle response controller removes the throttle lag by intercepting and modifying the throttle signal from the factory gas pedal sensor. It gives the engine a much quicker reaction time to your pedal inputs and enables the driver to access the engine power much faster.

Eliminate Drive-by-Wire Delay

Modern vehicles incorporate electronic throttle systems called drive-by-wire that cause an initial delay. Pedal Commander throttle response controller comes into play right here; it eliminates this lag and provides immediate throttle feedback.

What is it with drive-by-wire throttle systems?

Understanding Drive-by-Wire Throttle Systems

As automotive technology evolved, almost every component and system became electronic. Throttle systems were no different, as they started to become electronically controlled in the early 2000s. Nowadays, nearly all new vehicles utilize electronic throttle control systems (ETC), also known as drive-by-wire systems, that replace the throttle cable of the past, which physically linked the gas pedal to the throttle valve.

The Pedal Commander throttle response controller is only compatible with vehicles that use drive-by-wire throttle systems.

Why Do I Need Pedal Commander?

The manufacturer deliberately puts the throttle lag there. Manufacturers want to control the throttle valve to make their products cater to a very wide range of customers, and they also regulate the throttle valve because of emissions concerns. Manufacturers limit the throttle body reaction time in two ways:

1

One aspect of this limitation is how much the throttle valve opens. Even if you press the accelerator 100%, the ECU limits the throttle valve to open up to 80-90%, depending on the vehicle and application.

2

Another way is how fast the throttle valve opens. No matter how hard you press the accelerator pedal, the ECU decides how fast the butterfly valve opens. Your foot does not make any difference.

Pedal Commander throttle response controller solves this problem. It connects to the throttle pedal sensor and takes information from it. It compiles the signal in a high-speed control circuit, modifies it with vehicle-specific software, and sends it to the ECU. This optimization removes the factory restrictions on the throttle response. With the factory limitations removed, the engine becomes much more responsive to your gas pedal inputs.

The Pedal Commander throttle response controller is engineered to be vehicle-specific. It comes with throttle maps specific to your vehicle and offers four driving modes: Eco, City, Sport, andSport+. Each driving mode has nine different sensitivity levels to choose from, so you get 36 individual levels for your vehicle’s throttle sensitivity. You can select modes that deliver better acceleration or fuel efficiency depending on your needs.

The Pedal Commander throttle response controller is not only a performance upgrade. It is also a perfect additional vehicle security system with its Anti-Theft feature. After a one-time, easy setup process, Pedal Commander’s anti-theft disables your vehicle’s gas pedal and prevents unauthorized control. Click here to learn more about Pedal Commander’s Anti-Theft.

City Mode

It gives you a more active throttle response and is perfect for daily driving. Many of our customers say that City mode makes their vehicle so good that it should’ve left the factory like that. It gives you the response of an "old school" throttle cable with a close to 1:1 pedal-to-throttle acceleration ratio.

*It is the recommended mode to drive in traffic.
