The Chevrolet Spark is a compact city car built for efficiency and practicality. Its small footprint and impressive fuel economy make it ideal for urban driving, tight parking spots, and everyday errands. However, like many cars in its class, the Spark's electronic throttle system often introduces noticeable lag between pressing the gas pedal and actual acceleration, and with a car engineered for fuel efficiency, an unnatural-feeling throttle response is a big drawback.

WHAT IS THROTTLE LAG?

When you first press down on the accelerator, there is a delay before anything actually happens. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) systems cause this as they take the signal from the accelerator pedal when you press it and send it to the vehicle’s ECU. All of this process causes a delay called throttle lag. Besides, manufacturers deliberately leave the delay there because it makes the vehicle suitable for various types of drivers.

The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.

Pedal Commander Review – 2020 Chevy Spark ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently installed a Pedal Commander on my 2020 Chevy Spark, and the difference was immediately noticeable. The stock throttle response on the Spark has always felt extremely sluggish—especially when trying to merge or get moving quickly—but this device completely woke this little car up. Installation was simple: plug-and-play, no cutting or splicing. Took maybe 10 minutes tops. I mounted the controller on top and through the fuse access panel where it’s easy to reach, and the interface is user-friendly. Paired it with the app and it’s easy to switch between modes. I’ve been mostly using SPORT mode for daily driving, which gives a nice boost without being too aggressive. Sport mode? That’s where things really get fun—throttle response is crisp, almost like a completely different car. Eco mode is there too if you’re trying to stretch your fuel economy, but it’s a Spark, that’s standard. Pros: • Night and day throttle improvement • Multiple modes for different driving styles • Easy install • Compact and clean interface Cons: • It’s not adding horsepower, just improving throttle response • Pricey for a Spark, but worth it if you hate the lag Bottom line: If you’re tired of that delay when hitting the gas in your Spark, this little box fixes it fast. Makes the car way more fun to drive without any engine mods.

I recently purchased a PEDAL COMMANDER for my 2022 Chevy Spark LS after seeing a demo on tv. What a difference! All of the lag points, corners, rolling stops,hills are gone!
